Kevin DeYoung preached to the students of Boyce College last week, and it was outstanding. His text was Mark 3:7-19, and his topic was “Defining Discipleship Down.” The title is a riff on Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s 1993 article “Defining Deviancy Down.” This is a must-listen. Alvin Hickey

Dr, Hickey has 45 years of varied experience in the field of education, in both K-12 and higher education. He has served as a classroom teacher and as an administrator in several capacities. He presently serves Boyce College as the Chair of the Department of Teacher Education, working to launch the new Teacher Education Program as a state approved and accredited teacher preparation unit. He comes to Boyce College after serving at Kentucky State University as a professor and administrator in teacher education. He also served 13 years at Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA, where he was instrumental in the establishment of their teacher education program, and was Director of the Liberty University School of Lifelong Learning (LUSLL) Work Text Division, and of the K-12 Christian textbook division known as Liberty Education Network (LEN).
