David Adams

Dr. Adams brings a passion for youth ministry to Boyce College and serves as the executive director of Boyce’s first research unit, the International Center for Youth & Family Ministry. He is the founder of Youth Ministry Development, organizations for equipping and empowering God directed leaders through the local church.
He joined the faculty at Boyce and Southern Seminary after serving as president of Lexington Baptist College for five years. Prior to that, for 21 years he ministered at Thomas Road Baptist Church to over 3,000 families and Liberty University as member of the President’s Cabinet and department chairman involving over 1,000 students each semester. He is the recipient of the prestigious “Liberty University Lifetime Achievement Award” and The Southern Seminary LEAD School “Legacy Award.” Adams began teaching undergraduate and graduates in 1978 and has taught each semester without interruption.
Ordained in 1979, Adams has served vocationally in ministerial settings in such roles as Preaching/Administrative Pastor, Adult Minister, Youth and Family Minister, and Trainer. He has served successfully in three churches as Pastor of Youth and Family Ministries. He has been exposed to a variety of mediums, including national television, radio, newspaper, instructional videos, and numerous publications. Adams’ unique giftedness has made him one of the most sought-after speakers. He has spoken to audiences numbering up to 20,000.
He established partnerships with nine institutions overseas. His curriculum, lectures, and resources have been translated into six different languages. He is an international consultant to ministers, denominational leaders, and educational administrators. His students are serving on five continents. He has hosted hundreds on 31 mission trips traveling to 16 different countries including: Brazil, Canada, England, Germany, Kenya, Korea, Hungary, France, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Tanzania, Uganda, and Ukraine. He has had an audience with two American presidents, one foreign president and various other governmental officials.
Dave holds membership in a variety of organizations that including: International Association of Youth Educators (Oxford), Association of Christian Schools International, National Association of Professors of Christian Education, National Association of Youth Ministry Educators (founding member), National Network of Youth Ministers, Youth Ministry International (Board Member), and Youth Ministry Executive Committee, Washington, D.C.
