I grew up just south of Kansas City, Missouri in Lee’s Summit. All of my family is from West Texas, where much of my family still lives. I attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri and received a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. What drew me to Louisville was Southern Seminary and the firm belief in the Bible as the inerrant Word of God. I was called into ministry as a young teenager, and look forward to service in the church as a senior Pastor. I have worked in churches as youth interns, interim pastors, and minister of music, and various other staff positions.

I currently serve at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. My wife and I first became acquainted with the church when I assumed the role of interim music minister. We got more than we bargained for, and have chosen to invest our lives with the body of believers there. I married Katherine in the summer of ’06 and have two sons. The Lord is so kind to us!

I love my job because I believe in what’s happening here at Boyce College and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I count it a privilege to serve the Lord here.

When I graduated high school in 2008, I did not know what I wanted to be “when I grew up,” or where I wanted to attend college. I knew one thing for certain though: I was not going to attend Boyce College. I decided to stay home in South Alabama and attend a local community college. I had a good job, and living at home saved a lot of money. By the end of my freshman year, however, God had changed my heart. I knew that God was calling me to some area of ministry and that Boyce was the best place to equip me. Although I was uncertain of where a ministry degree would take me, I applied in May and moved to Louisville in August. Moving to Louisville was a big step, but one that the Lord has blessed. I am a Biblical and Theological Studies major. Since attending Boyce, I have grown spiritually and have had many opportunities for ministry and leadership. If you are looking for a solid, Biblical education taught by professors who not only love teaching, but love the students that they teach, then Boyce is the place for you!

I graduated from high school in May 2009, and I am a sophomore at Boyce this year. My college decision was long and difficult, and at the last moment God changed all my plans and led me to Boyce. I am currently studying missions. God has placed a passion in my heart for the nations, and what drew me to Boyce was the emphasis they place on the Great Commission. Southern Seminary and Boyce are commited to training up Godly men and women. I have grown spiritually in my first year at Boyce, and I am excited to see what else God has in store. My prayer is that you will consider Boyce, and be open to God’s calling in your life.

I am from the Nashville area and graduated from Donelson Christian Academy in 2008. This will be my sophomore year at Boyce. My middle name is Jacques but try not to hold the Frenchness against me. I enjoy backpacking, painting and long walks on the beach.

Contemplating the call to the ministry led me to the mentality of “all or nothing”. I wanted a solid conservative college to help prepare me for the future. I was unable to find one as unique as Boyce College. Every class is completely driven by the gospel and saturated with the Scripture. I did not want to waste time in vain classes that were not related to my degree. The courses I have taken have aided me in evangelism, strengthened me in the Lord, and fueled my passion for the Word.

If you don’t want to waste your college years- Boyce is for you.

I am from Carlisle County Kentucky where I graduated in 2008.  While in High School in Western Kentucky, I began to feel a call into full time ministry.  Though I never wrestled with the call into ministry, I did wrestle with what this meant for my education.

After several years of trying to figure out what was best for my future ministry, I landed at Boyce College fully convinced that I would receive more than just an education.   This has proven to be the case.  Every class, every friend, every interaction has more thoroughly prepared me for my future ministry.  I’ve not only wrestled with theology, had fun and made friends at Boyce College, I’ve discovered a family I never knew I had.  All of my brothers and sisters here are united under one driving focus: the Gospel of the Lord Jesus.

I can’t believe that I ever wrestled with where to go to college when Boyce was an option.  If you want to take part in radical growth for gospel ministry, consider joining the family of Boyce College.  It has changed my life.

Johnny is from Texas. There’s not much more that you need to know about anyone from Texas. This means that Johnny’s nice, good looking, and generally a solid guy. In fact, Johnny may be the sweetest guy you’ll ever meet in your life.
