FAQs

Q1: When and how do I register?

  • Registration is online (e-Campus). Go to Registration and follow the instructions from there (additional help is at the bottom of the page).

Q2: What courses should I take?

Q3: I am under the age of 20. Must I live on campus?

  • Yes. See additional Housing information at the Southern Seminary site.

Q4: If I am living on campus, when do I move in? Where do I start the process?

  • The move-in process begins at the Chapel in Carver Hall at Boyce College. All new students MUST move in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. in order to ensure a big welcome. Yes, you read that correctly. New students must move in at this time! But keep your eyes open for current students to be on hand to help you with your bags. You may also make payment at this time.

Q5: When does orientation "officially" begin and end?

Q6: Are the parents of students welcome?

  • Umm, if they must. Just kidding. Of course parents and family members are welcome! In fact, we encourage them to be there for the activities on the first day.

Q7: How do I get a parking permit for my car? Does it cost? Where can I or my parents park during orientation?

  • Semester-long parking permits can be obtained in the Security office in Mullins 3126.  Time will be provided for this during orientation.  The fee is already included in your student fee. Bring all vehicle details (model, tag numbers, etc.) to the INFO Room during Orientation. During Friday’s move-in time and Saturday’s orientation, you may park in any legal parking place.

Q8: How do I get my SBTS box number for mail?

  • A post office box can be obtained by just one trip to the INFO Room during Orientation activities.  If for some reason you miss this time, you can either go to the post office in Honeycutt or just call them at 897-4401.

Q9: Is child care provided during orientation?

  • Childcare is not provided, but children are welcome to attend the meal times and some meeting times.

Q10: What is the computer proficiency exams? Do I have to take it?

  • The COMPUTER PROFICIENCY EXAM costs $10 (cash or check payable to SBTS). The EXAM is for all students with competence in personal computers who wish to pass out of CM 101, Introduction to Computers. Students who pass this exam will substitute a 3-hour elective in the place of CM 101.

Q11: Where can my family stay when they come to Louisville?

  • The Legacy Center, the on-campus conference center at Southern Seminary, offers accommodating rooms at affordable prices.  Call the Legacy Center today to make your reservations! (502-736-0600)
