Purpose:

To equip the Boyce College community for world impact to the glory of God through the dissemination of information about, intercession for and personal involvement in God’s mission to the nations.
Acts 17:6 “These…who have turned the world upside down have now come here.”

Blog intro:

Boyce’s World Impact Center blog features faculty and administration speaking to current missiological trends and issues.

Missions Link intro:

Boyce Missions Link is a student led organization which seeks to inform the Boyce community of the needs and opportunities in missions both locally and abroad. Four Missions Link officers are elected by the members each academic year. These officers host events both on and off campus in order to educate and equip the student body for missions here in Louisville and around the world.

Upcoming Events:

Missions Fellowship:  On  24 September (Friday), there will be a Missions Fellowship at Dr. and Mrs. Carlton’s house at 2749 Cliffwood Avenue; Louisville, KY 40206.  Their house is about two blocks from the Grinstead Drive entrance to the school. The fellowship time will include food as well as an opportunity to hear from Ryan Travis, a recent graduate of Boyce, who was involved in the Hands On program of the IMB during the Spring semester 2010.  Come and enjoy the time of fellowship with other students and the Carltons.  RSVP to wicboyce@sbts.edu is requested by Thursday, 23 September.

Short Term:

As a student at Boyce College, you will have the opportunity to prepare for and participate in short-term missions opportunities, both in North America and abroad. Every year, various short-term mission trips, led by Southern Seminary or Boyce professors, are offered through the Great Commission Center. At least two of these trips are Boyce specific and can be worth up to 3 hours of missions elective credit (MS 331, MS 336).
The Hands On program of the IMB is also available to Boyce students looking for short-term opportunities. This program allows college students to serve overseas for 3 to 6 months for a uniform rate of $2600. There are projects available to match a wide variety of interests and skills in locations around the world. Boyce College cooperates with the IMB to offer a full scholarship for up to 12 hours credit for students who participate in Hands On. Course credit includes the internship and three missions electives. See www.thetask.org for current project requests.

Pioneer Church Planting Praxis Program:

The Praxis Program gives students the opportunity to serve on a church planting team while studying at Boyce College. Teams target a specific people group or population segment of Louisville and seek to plant simple, reproducible churches. Students enroll each semester and work under the supervision of Dr. Carlton and approved site churches.

Internship:

The missions internship is required for all missions majors not participating in the praxis program. It is generally done in the summer before your senior year or through Hands On. Internships can be completed in North America or overseas so long as the Missions Department Coordinator approves both the supervisor and job description.
