Kevin DeYoung preached to the students of Boyce College last week, and it was outstanding. His text was Mark 3:7-19, and his topic was “Defining Discipleship Down.” The title is a riff on Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s 1993 article “Defining Deviancy Down.” This is a must-listen. Garnetta Smith
Associate Dean for Women
B.G.S., Indiana University Southeast; A.A., Eastern Kentucky University
Mrs. Smith has served in her current position since November 2008.
She also serves as Director of Women’s Ministry at Highview Baptist East. She teaches women’s Bible studies and is often called upon to speak at women’s conferences. Mrs. Smith also serves on the faculty of the Seminary Wives’ Institute at Southern and has taught in the Womens’ Ministry Institute, also at Southern.
She and her husband Lawrence, who serves at Dean of Students and VP for Community Relations, married in 1979. They have two grown sons, Jason and Edward.
