The International Center for Youth Ministry
The International Center for Youth Ministry is Boyce College’s first research unit, exploring crisis in youth evangelism and the multiple challenges facing today’s youth, training effective and faithful youth ministers and evangelists, and establishing a network of youth ministers and youth missionaries.
Why have the International Center for Youth Ministry?
- People get saved when they are young. 95% of all people come to Christ before they are 21 years of age.
- The world is "ripe for a harvest" of souls. As of the year 2000, over two billion young people will be less than 14 years of age, over half of the world’s population is under 25!
- Missions and youth go hand and glove. 5% of the wold’s population reside in the United States. 95% live outside our borders.
- Revival often begins in the youth culture. According to Bennet Tyler, 15 of 25 early US revivals were principally youth initiated. In the light of global youth prayer and abstinence movements, revival fires may be burning today.
- Families with teenagers will attend and stay in a church with a healthy youth program. Church growth studies document that where there is an ineffective youth program, church attendance declines.
