Below are the required forms from all applicants.
Church Affirmation Form
All applicants must receive official endorsement from the local church where they are a member. All applicants are expected to have maintained official church membership for a minimum of one year.
Recommendation Forms
We suggest that a minister, a professor, and a business acquaintance each complete one of your recommendation forms. Family members may not complete a recommendation form. Recommenders must have known the applicant for a minimum of one year. If for some reason recommendations do not reflect this kind of diversity, the Admissions Office may request additional recommendations. While an applicant’s recommendations should be more heavily weighted towards academics, at least one recommendation must come from a pastor.
Pastor/Leader Form
This is a requirement for all MATS applicants. The Pastor/Leader Recommendation is submitted in lieu of the normal Church Affirmation Form and three Recommendation Forms.
Spiritual Autobiography
The Spiritual Autobiography is a typed 2-3 page essay documenting your conversion, spiritual growth, call to ministry, life and ministry experiences, and reasons for choosing Boyce College.
Housing Application
All applicants (including internet and extension center applicants) are required to affirm or deny their need for campus housing. Campus housing constraints require us to know of housing needs at the earliest possible date.
Official Transcripts
Transcription from all educational institutions is required. Official High School transcripte or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) test scores unless the applicant has more than 24 college hours. It is best if applicant’s request for the transcript be sent directly from their school to the Southern Seminary Admissions Office. In no case will the seminary consider as official a transcript marked “Issued to Student”.
Application Fee
A $35 non-refundable application fee is due to the admissions office before application packet can be processed.
ACT/SAT Scores
All applicants (including homeschooled students) are required to submit scores from either the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT). The SAT code for Boyce College is 3858 and the ACT code is 5522. Applicants who are 24 or older, or have passed 15 hours from (a) a regionally accredited college or (b) a college with AABC accreditation, and have maintained at least a C average, are not required to submit these standardized test scores. (SAT and ACT scores are not used as a basis of admission to Boyce College but are used to help evaluate a student’s ability to do college level work.)
