Boyce College Choir

This vocal group rehearses each Wednesday from 10-11:20 AM in Heeren Hall under the direction of Dr. Chuck Lewis.  This choir is open to all Boyce students in any major who enjoy singing.  Boyce College Choir sings a variety of styles of music throughout the year.  The group sings in chapel services on campus and sometimes in area churches.  Each spring the choir takes a short tour.  Students receive one elective hour of credit with no course fee.  Register online for MU150.

Lexington Road

Lexington Road is a traveling worship team that sings for churches and youth events throughout the year.  The team is under the leadership of Matthew Holland.  Students on this team receive some tuition assistance and enter by audition only.  Auditions are usually held in the spring semester for the next year.  This group meets each Monday from 2:30-4:30 PM and Wednesday from 1-3 PM.  Contact Dr. Chuck Lewis for more information on this group: ctlewis@sbts.edu.

Boyce Vocal Band

Boyce Vocal Band is a traveling worship team that sings for churches and youth events during the school year. In addition to functioning as a worship band, Boyce Vocal Band also sings a cappella hymns and arrangements of new worship songs.  Students on this team receive some tuition assistance and enter by audition only.  Auditions are usually held in the spring semester for the next year.  This group meets each Wednesday and Friday from 1-3 PM.  Contact the director of this team, Dr. Greg Brewton, for more information: gbrewton@sbts.edu.

Dorm Meeting Band

Each Monday night during the fall and spring semester Boyce College dorm students attend Dorm Meeting.  This is a special evening of worship and preaching planned just for our college students.  Dorm Meeting Band provides the musical leadership for this worship time each week.  The team is under the leadership of Kha Do.  This group is an auditioned group that receives some tuition assistance.  This group meets each Monday from 7-9 PM.  For information on this worship team contact Dr. Chuck Lewis: ctlewis@sbts.edu.

Worship Lab Band I

A major focus of this team is on preparation and training, although its members will lead public worship on select occasions throughout the year.  Students on this team will receive practical skills for playing/singing in a worship band, leading worship and developing excellent musicianship under the leadership of Jonatan Barahona.  Although this team is non-scholarship, members will receive one elective hour of credit with no course fee.  This auditioned group meets each Thursday from 3:30-5:30 PM.  Contact Dr. Chuck Lewis for more information: ctlewis@sbts.edu.

Grinstead

Grinstead is an Indie-folk style band assembled to lead worship and perform at events with a primarily acoustic sound.  Instrumentation includes traditional rhythm band instruments plus banjo and violin.  Under the direction of Jonatan Barahona, this group leads at events both on campus and off.  Although no tuition assistance is provided for this team, members will receive one elective hour of credit with no course fee.  Contact Dr. Chuck Lewis for more information: ctlewis@sbts.edu.

Southern Chorale

Each Monday afternoon from 4-5:45 this seminary ensemble meets in Cooke Hall.  The Chorale sings several times a semester in the Tuesday seminary chapel service.  In addition to some chapel responsibilities, the chorale prepares an evening fall concert.  This group is open to Boyce Students.  To register contact Dr. Greg Brewton, director: gbrewton@sbts.edu.  Students receive one hour of elective credit with no course fee.

Chapel Orchestra

Did you play in high school band or orchestra or a church instrumental group?  Your talents are needed each Tuesday morning in chapel orchestra.  This group, under the guidance of Dr. Joe Crider, rehearses each Tuesday at 9am and then plays in the Tuesday seminary chapel at 10am.  Students can receive one hour of elective credit with no course fee for participation in this group.  Contact Dr. Crider for more information: jrcrider@sbts.edu.
