Kevin DeYoung – Defining Discipleship Down
by Denny Burk – April 12, 2010

Kevin DeYoung preached to the students of Boyce College last week, and it was outstanding. His text was Mark 3:7-19, and his topic was “Defining Discipleship Down.” The title is a riff on Daniel Patrick Moynihan’s 1993 article “Defining Deviancy Down.” This is a must-listen. Books

  • Articular Infinitives in the Greek of the New Testament
This book is a technical study on a particular point of Greek Grammar, the articular infinitive. It was published by Sheffield Phoenix Press in May 2006. Sheffield Phoenix Press is located in the Department of Biblical Studies at the University of Sheffield in England.
  • Mounce’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words
Dr. Burk is a contributor to this dictionary of Old and New Testament words. It is based on the NIV translation, though it’s still servicable with the King James Version. Zondervan is hoping that it will replace the old but popular Vine’s Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words, which was based on the King James translation. It was published by Zondervan in July 2006.
